Carolina is a Colombian researcher with over ten years of experience. She holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Cauca and a Master in Rural Development from the Pontifical Xaverian University in Bogotá.
She is an experienced field ethnographer with vast experience in qualitative and quantitative research in academic and non-academic settings. Over the years, she has conducted context analyses and has designed and implemented methodologies for community work.
In the Colombian context, Carolina has extensive knowledge of rural and socio-environmental conflicts, peace-building, armed conflict, land issues, including land-use planning, and socio-demographic profiling. She has facilitated and mediated dialogues between rural communities, business actors and the State. She has also extensive experience of working with indigenous, Afro-descendant and peasant (campesino) communities in Colombia.
Previously, she worked for the Colombian Truth Commission, the International Organisation for Migration, the Institute for Intercultural Studies at the Pontifical Xaverian University in Cali, and the Del Rosario University.
